Thanks for checking out NC Kombuchary - The vision that began with two brothers and a passion for the local mountains, rivers, people, produce and unique community. Owners Sean and Patrick Millar began this journey over 7 years ago when Sean obtained a single “SCOBY” (Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast) from a dear friend. Since then, his passion for hand crafting locally sourced fruit and herb infused kombucha (as well as soap, chapstick, candles, among others) has blossomed into what friends have called “the best kombucha I’ve ever tasted.” This was destined to remain a home hobby and passion, until his brother finally returned from his travels abroad to Nevada County to become a local high school teacher. His sense for a good adventure, prior business experience, as well as his belief in his brothers high quality craftsmanship have inspired Sean to take his next step and begin kegging his kombucha in larger quantities for the community to enjoy. With help from our sister Erin (completing the family trifecta) we aim to support and work with local restaurants, tap houses and breweries in the Northern California region to create a company that reflect the values of their home town of Grass Valley - community, sustainability and love. Indeed, it is likely this last key ingredient that makes each batch taste so freaking good! We can’t wait to serve and support you all soon!
