Bitney Prep High School, a nonprofit public charter, offers students a chance to co-create dynamic, interest-based educational pathways. In addition to project-based academic courses, students also participate in daylong professional internships every Wednesday, and qualifying students may attend Sierra Community College classes tuition free! Students are encouraged to develop passion projects, and to reach out into the Nevada County community with projects and plans for making our community and the greater world more just, sustainable and peaceful.

Bitney Prep Kids doing Bitney Prep Things
Ms. Harper brought a group of students out and joined the SYRCL - The South Yuba River Citizens League Yuba River Cleanup efforts by joining the US Army Corps of Engineers to pick up trash along the banks of Englebright Reservoir. Collectively, they found over 40 pounds of trash, which ranged from tiny pieces of plastic to a nice set of abandoned folding chairs!

Looks like they had Constitution Day Cake in Mr. Barnum's class today.

Bitney Prep Kids Doing Bitney Prep Things: Ms. Harper's Environmental Science class put the scientific method to the test this week — literally.
Students researched the science behind how paper airplanes fly, wrote hypotheses, built their own designs, and put them to the test to see whose predictions held up. Real research, real experimentation, real results.
