This is an ode to my amazing son Cyrus who is turning 16 years old in August. Cyrus has been the inspiration behind most of my decisions over the past 16 years, as for most of us our children become that driving force behind our life choices. When Cyrus was 2.5 years old I made a big decision that changed my life for the better in countless ways. I started this sweet preschool program called Sprouts. I chose this path out of my desire to keep my son home with me, to frolic in the gardens, and grow up to appreciate nature (and his mama) as his first teachers. Previous to starting Sprouts I spent a decade creating school gardens and developing programs around connecting children to their food from seed to table. I dove deep into this passion, making a small but mighty impact in the world of garden and nutrition education.

Fast forward 14 years later, my son is growing up to be an amazing human. I look back through the years to have my heart full of love for the many lifelong friendships we developed out of Sprouts. Each precious one giving us the gift of community. I am grateful for the many years of love and support that has flourished from this sweet program.
The time has come to announce that Sprouts is taking a sabbatical, we are closing our doors and focusing on new and exciting chapters. This past year I have been focusing on diving deeper into my career path and this fall I will be dedicating all my time to this work. Don’t worry Sprouts and Blossoms (our name has morphed over the years, long story with a big vision), is not going anywhere. We will still have a presence by posting important events, articles, and if you are lucky some amazing throwback pictures.
When you water the seeds they sprout, grow, and turn into beautiful blossoms. When the flowers end their life cycle, they turn back into seeds. Blossoms don’t last forever, but sometimes they return bigger and brighter in the following years.
Sprouts and Blossoms thanks you for all the memories, love, and support over these years, you have been an amazing community.
