IT'S - A big part of our program is the Clean Living Seminar. The seminar takes place during the time of initial water filter delivery and focuses on ways to improve sanitary conditions in the local area. While some donated sanitation supplies are provided, AWAT focuses on practical, local solutions that can be continued without a reliance on third-party support. This includes homeopathic remedies for illness and homemade cleaning supplies that are inexpensive to make but are effective in fighing against disease and sickness caused by bacteria.

IT'S - Although our focus is on clean water, we have no desire to simply provide a bandaid and take several steps to avoid this. The first and most important step is in establishing a local partner. This partner is vital in providing information for both the initial evaluation and later as we pursue the best long-term solution.

IT'S - Our vision is to move towards a world where illnesses from unclean water and poor sanitation are a thing of the past. Right now, at any given time up to half of the hospital beds in the world are occupied by people who have ingested contaminated water. The Clean Living Program is a perfect stepping stone for communities and provides them with the basics of disease prevention and water filtration. This step toward a healthy life enables communities to move away from the cycle of disease and into a happier and healthier life.

In developing countries as much as 80% of illnesses are linked to poor water filtration and sanitation conditions. This is an easy problem to solve and AWAT is committed to joining with altruistic people like you to be a part of that solution.

IT'S - The purpose of the Clean Living program is to bring water filtration units and sanitation education to rural, third world areas lacking clean water. With your help, we deliver customized solutions that will provide long-term relief by partnering with local individuals, pre-existing organizations and missionaries in the target area. After an initial exploratory trip to make connections and test water sources, we then distribute water filtration units and educate the community. When possible, a local representative will be left on staff to ensure routine maintenance and provide feedback. Annual reports from our partner programs will serve to provide invaluable direction on the future of each project.

IT'S -We've spent a lot of time researching which water filters to use. We chose these because they are easy to use and maintain. With proper maintenance they will literally never stop working. We also went with this company because they are able to reduce shipping charges which means we are able to get more filters for less money.
