We have been recognizing what happened on 911 over the past two decades at Grapevine Faith Christian School. This was from a powerful time where we had all the names of those who perished that sad day read out loud all day and scrolling on the walls of our creative arts center. May we never forget.

When I was a teenager, I used to put on backyard carnivals for the Jerry Lewis muscular dystrophy telethon on Labor Day weekend to raise money. Years later, while serving as the Creative Arts Director, I was given the opportunity to come up with an idea to promote our creative arts program at Grapevine Faith. Of course we had to do a carnival. And the tradition has continued on. So many wonderful memories.

Recently, four of our Speech and Debate team members competed in the National Speech & Debate Meet.

Owen Little came home as a quarterfinalist in prose interpretation, placing in the top 30 of 250 competitors in the US.

Speech Captain Zane Duffy continued to impress, becoming a double-octafinalist. Zane and Owen also competed in Duo Interpretation, placing in the top third nationally!

Lastly, supplemental members Josh and Carson competed in expository speaking and extemporaneous debate, respectively. Both received positive feedback and strong results.

Give these guys your congratulations the next time you see them; they have worked so hard this summer!
