Before lunch, those who wanted helped Paul make avocado salad for today's lunch. Everyone had a chance to smell the avocado and feel the skin (the consensus was it was rough and felt like a frog) before cutting the avocado and then working together to make a layered salad with lettuce, cheese, tomato, and avocado with a drizzle of ranch across the top.

We talked some more about our adopted cow today and how it sleeps in hay and also eats hay. We provided a pair of scissors and challenged them to cut the tall grass from the maze to use for hay. Once we had the small table full, I asked what they would do if they were a cow. Right away, they gathered around and pretended to be eating it. We had also set out a variety of farm animals as well as some trucks, tractors, and other vehicles. They had fun putting the animals to bed, hiding & finding the animals and using the vehicles to move the hay around!
