But first. Let us remember our design...
We’re SUPPOSED to sweat.🥵
Repeat after me🗣 “sweating is GOOD.”

We often forget that our skin is our LARGEST organ. Along with the kidneys, colon and lungs, the skin plays a major role in elimination. These are your “exit doors”.

In today’s world, our bodies are overwhelmed by toxins. From the food we eat to the products we use. From the air we breathe to the drugs we take. Ohhhh and the STRESS.🥴

Your lymphatic system (think waste management department) runs throughout the body and lies just below the skin’s surface. (We’ll talk more specifically about the lymphatic system later this month). For now - lets remember that every cell in the body eats & poops😂. Of all the body’s “trash”, nearly 2/3 of it is “dumped” in the zone between the neck & ribs, with primary “collection sites” in the armpits (axillary).

Stay with me...

Anti-perspirants, as their name implies, BLOCK. So while we’re over here blocking sweat (yay), we’re also blocking our body’s ability to safely, consistently and effectively take out the trash (boo). Ever forgot to take your trash can to the curb on pick up day? Yep, trash piles up and overflows. And dude...🤢😷

Y’all follow me? EVERY exit door we have needs to be open. Open doors are VITAL to our health and QUALITY of life.

💡More breast tumors are found in the UPPER OUTER quadrant than anywhere else in the breast. This is the closet region to the armpit. Mine was no exception. Left breast, 1 o’clock.😞

So for starters, anti-perspirants are ❌ because:

1) they block your ability to eliminate toxins and

2) they are chock full of creepy chemicals and toxic heavy metals😳

Yep.

Aluminum - Is ANY amount of a toxic heavy metal ”SAFE” in the human body? 😤 Don’t get me started.

Parabens - KNOWN cancer causers and hormone disrupters. More than 2/3 of breast cancer cases are estrogen positive. (Xenoestrogens are rampant in bath/body/beauty products). Read your labels and 🏃‍♀️ far far away.

Phthalates - Disrupt hormones, mutate cells and are linked to birth defects.💔👶🏼

So what’s a girl to do?🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m gonna let you in on a simple little hack that rocked my world a few years back. TRUST ME on this one. Grab a LIME (yes a LIME) or 2 the next time you hit the grocery store. Cut that dude in half and swipe It across freshly-clean (but NOT freshly-shaven) pits. Repeat daily until odor is gone. It typically only takes 1-2 applications. Apparently there’s an acid in the lime that kills the bacteria that causes the odor.🤩 Once the odor issue is resolved, most of us feel a little more “ok” with the idea of sweating if we must.🤪 Now when/if I do sweat, at least I don’t stink.🌹 Oh! And do NOT use your limes more than once. Ewwww.🤢

Next. Feel like you still “need” SOME protection?

Aluminum-free DEODORANT is your ticket. I’m just gonna save you some time and money and tell you, a lot of natural deodorants plain SUCK. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Also - there’s a detox period when you go from an anti-perspirant to a natural deodorant. When an individual uses an aluminum based antiperspirant they are clogging their pores. As soon as the individual quits using the antiperspirant and uses a natural deodorant instead the pores are no longer clogged. This allows years worth of “stuff” to come out. This is NOT the natural deodorant not working! **Allow your body 1-3 weeks** to rid itself of those toxins and get acclimated to your new lifestyle. Applying once in the middle of the day may be needed while you make this transition.
