Last Saturday, a crowd was crushed in Itaewon, Seoul that resulted in the death of at least 146 people and around 150 injured (reported by The Washington Post).
On the day of the incident, around 100,000 people gathered to take part in a Halloween festival which quickly turned into a deadly crowd surge. Immediately after the incident, Korean President Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol seeked medical support for victims as a result of this tragic event, and the police escorted the participants out of the scene safely. After that, he has declared a period of national mourning to commemorate the deceased and continues to investigate how this incident has led to over 150 deaths.
DASU would like to show our condolences for the loss to the victims’ families. We encourage others to pray for the victims and support their families during these times of need.

🥳DASU RECLAIMING CULTURE WEEK🥳
DASU proudly presents our annual Reclaiming Culture Week (RCW) starting next week!!!
📍What is Reclaiming Culture Week (RCW)?
Next week DASU is celebrating the 3rd annual RCW where we organize many events celebrating cultural diversity in collaboration with many other C3 organizations on campus. Especially since Halloween is coming up, we want to amplify the message of anti-cultural appropritation. So join us on these events to have fun, destressed, and most importantly be further educated and help tackle the issue of culture appropriation.
📍SAVE THESE DATES ON YOUR CALENDAR AND WE'LL SEE YOU THERE!!!!!
