Your Better Path Helping people make good life choices. Life is often described as a journey. How do we know this? Do you know where you came from? Do you know why you are here?

A path that begins at Birth winds though our daily lives for many years and ends with our Death. As simple as it sounds it tends to get very complicated and perplexing along the way. Unlike most other life forms, Man is aware of self and therefore questions his existence. Since the dawn of civilization and the recording of history, there is evidence that leads us to believe that in addition to a physical body, Man, has a mind or intellect that thinks, questions and reasons. It is this awareness that causes us to question “where we came from”, “why we are here” and “where are we going.” There is also speculation that man has a soul or spirit that transcends death and works its way back to its creator somewhere in our universe. Through the ages, Philosophers have dedicated their lives to the task of searching for the answers in the form of thought, theories, prose, poetry and stories. Occasionally there is a glimpse of reality or an original thought. But for the most part they collectively struggle to provide a clear consensus of ideas to answer these puzzling questions. However much can be learned from their metaphysical and philosophical thoughts and applied to our lives today. Through our monthly journal we will bring a fresh perspective of the best ideas from noted thinkers to shed new light on possible answers to these three ageless questions. Each month we will feature an author, philosopher, scientist or scholar with significant insight into each of the three questions. Additionally there will be an editorial, a viewpoint on theory, article and / or book review, a self-help segment to apply some of the information to your own daily path and a video interview with a contemporary figure in one of the featured areas of thought. We will offer 1 and 3 day workshop throughout the year to assist people in evaluating, understanding and restructuring their individual paths. Life coaching on a small group and an individual basis will be available as well. Our web site will feature additional content and references to books and events that may enrich our member’s lives. Our journal will be available through subscription only and a premium site will be set up for additional services. Do you know where you are going? What path are you on and do you know if it is right for you. Socrates said, “An unexamined life is not worth living.” If you are ready, we will help you take a good look at yours.

The Buxton Inn in Granville has five buildings, two dozen guest rooms and at least two ghosts — one a former owner, the other her cat. The ghosts are among the few things untouched at the 204-year-old inn over the past year by Robert Schilling, owner of Columbus-based Urban Restorations, and his dau…

This morning's program at our weekly chapter meeting featured Barry Gasaway, a life coach at Your Better Path. Barry talked about the relatively new concept of life coaching that draws on the basic principles of traditional coaching philosophies, but takes them a step further to help people make better choices, identify their goals, and reach them in positive ways. The next workshop is Friday, March18, at the Granville Inn. Give Barry a call for more information. 740-888-1246 or email [email protected]
