One thing our kids learn at camp is some good old agriculture. And they may get to make some animal friends along the way.

First day of camp down, 2nd day underway! First thing our campers learn is how to feed our horse teachers. They can be pretty persuasive for a 2nd breakfast. (And by horse teachers we mean those awesome 4 legged teachers we employ here at Capital City)

How do you end a hot day at camp? Hosing off the sweaty horses and maybe getting a little splashed too! Make sure to stay cool and hydrated this week.

We celebrate the retirement of two of our longest horse partners.
Phoenix and Copper had been with us since almost the beginning of Capital City. These two bonded horses have been together since they were a few years old, and at close to 30 years old they were still a pair.
While Phoenix had been technically retired for a couple of years when it was time to retire Copper we knew it was time to send them to their retirement home together.
We will miss them and know our students will too. Thank you Copper and Phoenix for teaching many of our students how to ride and how to be good horsemen and women.
If you happen to have photos of your time Phoenix or Copper we would love to see them in the comments!
And while we are on the hunt for the perfect replacement horse teachers we know that whatever horse we bring in has big horseshoes to fill.
