Media From The Middle students had the opportunity to talk with Sean Bice, podcast host, writer, and social media content creator for MotoAmerica. Many students in the class have landed on creating a podcast for their passion project, so it was beyond helpful to hear from someone with so much experience.

“B4” learning more exponent properties, Math 8 students practiced their exponent skills so far this unit with a competitive game of exponent battleship. In order to take a shot at sinking an opponent’s ship, students had to correctly simplify an exponent problem. Students not only practiced their skills on paper, but they were also able to practice vocabulary and saying the math out loud!

The 7th-grade boys basketball team ended their season by giving to others. After their banquet, the team made and packed 50 lunches to take to St. Vincent’s homeless shelter. Thanks to the older siblings of players Leyton Cousino and Chance Gossman for organizing the event.

The Granville Middle School Science Olympiad team competed at the West Liberty-Salem Invitational on Saturday. The following students earned medals:

Chyler Katona and James Browder-6th in Fast Facts
Chyler Katona and James Browder-2nd in Forestry
James Browder and Liam Warblow-6th in Wheeled Vehicle
The team is next in action on March 16th at the Central Ohio Regional Tournament.

How slow can you go? Students in Science 8 learned about friction and were challenged to create a slow marble run. The task: make six ramps for a marble, using your knowledge about friction to slow it down.
