‘Collective Effervescence’ | Senior Research Dance Concert

Free, however tickers are required at artsatdenison.ludus.com. Seating is limited. A standby list will begin when doors open each night in the event of a sold-out show.

The Dance Department presents the Senior Research Concert, in which three senior dance majors merge various interdisciplinary inquiries and experiences from their Denison careers into choreographic dancemaking. Their creative works delve into multifaceted aspects of the athlete/dancer, cycles of the feminine and experiences of womanhood, and journeys of supporting mental health. 

PLEASE NOTE: Friday evening’s performance is sold out. We will begin an in-person waitlist for this performance at 7 p.m. Please ask a member of the ticketing staff to add your name to the list. Any unclaimed seats will be released a few minutes before the performance begins. Your name will be called if a seat becomes available.

Gracie Lukens is Dance and English Literature Double Major, from Wadsworth, OH. She loves contemporary and tap dance, and loves crafting and scrapbooking.

Jeanee Jimenez is a French and Dance Double Major from Hialeah, Fl. She loves ballet, contemporary, and modern; and she has gone skydiving and thinks it’s awesome!

Gabrielle Hrivnak is a Neuroscience and Dance Double Major from Cleveland, OH. She loves contemporary and improvisation, and she has been in a flash mob.

Mya Ellis is Communication and Journalism Double Major from Brooklyn, NY. She enjoys hip-hop and Afro-Caribbean, and she loves traveling ✈️

Introducing our Senior Fellows:

Fallon Brackley is a Bio and Dance Double Major with a Chemistry Minor from Queens, NY. She enjoys hip-hop, improvisation, contemporary, and ballet, and loves to surf and snowboard 💧

Ly Nguyen is a Global Commerce and Dance Double Major from Vietnam. She enjoys contemporary, hip-hop, traditional Vietnamese movements, and improvisation, and loves crocheting chunky blankets.

Portia Brackley is a Religion and Dance Double Major from Queens, NY. She enjoys contemporary, modern, and jazz, and loves to swim in the ocean 🌊

On April 12th and 13th, the Dance Department will host their Spring Dance Concert "Crescendo". Featuring works by Josh Manculich, Kiki Williams, Lucy Dillon, and Isaiah Harris, the show explores color, sounds, and poetic gestures through exciting performances.
