πŸ€ "I pledge my..." πŸ’š

The 4-H Pledge is more than just words we recite at meetings and camp. It reminds us of the values we strive to live each day - to think clearly, be loyal, serve others, build healthier lives, and use our hands and hearts to make a difference. It reminds us that 4-H isn't just about what we do; it's about who we become. 🌟

This video is a reflection of our camp family. Through the voices of campers and volunteers, the words of the 4-H Pledge come to life and remind us of the values that united us throughout an incredible week at Calhoun County 4-H Camp. Whether you attended camp this year or are simply part of the 4-H family, we hope these words inspire you just as they have inspired generations of young people before us. πŸ€

As you watch, remember that the 4-H Pledge doesn't end when camp is over. It continues in our clubs, our communities (includings schools, homes, jobs, and more), our country, and our world, as young people use their Head, Heart, Hands, and Health to make the best better. β€οΈπŸ€

πŸŽ₯ A special thank you to the Camp Content Creators who
helped plan, film, and edit this project.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™ That's a wrap on Calhoun County 4-H Camp 2026: United We Stand! πŸ’™πŸ€β€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

On Friday evening, 70 young people headed home after a week filled with laughter, friendship, learning, service, memories, and countless moments that reminded us why 4-H camp is so special.

Throughout the week, campers explored new interests, built confidence, strengthened friendships, and discovered what it means to stand together as a community. From classes and campfires to games, traditions, and service projects, every part of the week reflected this year's theme: *United We Stand.*

A sincere thank you goes to:
πŸ€ Our dedicated volunteer staff who gave their time, energy, and hearts to make camp possible.
πŸ€ The parents and families who trusted us with their children for the week.
πŸ€ The businesses, organizations, and community members whose generous support helped make camp affordable and provided opportunities that otherwise would not have been possible.

Because of all of you, 70 young people experienced a week they will remember for years to come.

As you enjoy this slideshow of highlights (Shout out to Olivia Zwoll for putting it together) from the week, know that these photos represent just a small glimpse of the memories that were made. We look forward to sharing additional individual photos in mid-July.

And while Camp 2026 may be over, planning for Calhoun County 4-H Camp 2027 is already underway. We can't wait to do it all again - and we hope even more young people will join us next summer!

The generosity of Calhoun County and the greater 4-H Community across the country really amazes me! I received a donation last night to fully fund the Veteran Activity Packs. Calhoun County 4-H Camp will be creating 50 of those to deliver to our veteran hospitals!

We also received an item to get our Birthday in a Bags started, so I am hoping we may be able to come together and complete that project, on a smaller level (24 bags).

Here is what we need to make that happen:

- Chocolate Frosting (8 Pack) - $11.94
- White Frosting (8 Pack) - $15.92
- Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix (12 Pack) - $18.73
- Vanilla Cake Mix (12 Pack) - $17.64
- Happy Birthday Balloons - $12.99
- Happy Birthday Hats - $9.99 (Need 2)
- Streamers - $9.99 (Need 5)
- Birthday Candles - $7.99
- Sprite (12 Pack) - $8.42
- Coca-cola (12 Pack) - $8.42
- Birthday Sticker - $7.99
- Snack Bags - $4.18

These items can be purchased individually on this list: https://a.co/06JjT61H

Or, the entire project can be sponsored for $200.00!

Help us complete this goal and be ready to serve at camp next week!

WVU Extension HOP, Hope Gas and City of Grantsville, are partnering to add some improvements around town. With funds from HOP 6 park benches were purchased. On 6/4, Hope gas employees could been seen volunteering to assemble and install new park benches along Rt 16 and at the city park. Later this month we will be installing 3 more park benches. These benches are being installed along a routes that have been proposed to be a Mountaineer Mile. We are working to make walking more easily accessible in town.
