RIBBON SPOTLIGHT 🎗
Today we will be spotlighting the zebra ribbon which represents carcinoid (neuroendocrine) cancer.
Carcinoid tumors are often slow growing, and can arise from anywhere in the body. Carcinoid tumors often go undetected for long periods of time due to little-to-no symptoms exhibited in patients.

RIBBON SPOTLIGHT 🎗
Today we will be spotlighting the periwinkle ribbon which represents gastric/stomach cancer. The official awareness month designated for the observance of gastric cancer is November.
Gastric cancer originates in the stomach, with the most common type being adenocarcinoma, a disease that forms in the stomach's inner lining. Risk factors for gastric cancer include smoking, obesity, and eating foods that are highly processed and sodium-concentrated.

RIBBON OF THE WEEK SPOTLIGHT 🎗️
This week we will be spotlighting the pearl/white ribbon which represents lung cancer. November is also Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
Approximately 90% of lung cancers are inflicted by cigarette smoking. Other risk factors of lung cancer include, personal/family history, long-term secondhand smoke exposure, asbestos exposure, radon gas exposure, along with other hazardous chemical exposures.

RIBBON OF THE WEEK SPOTLIGHT 🎗️
This week we will be spotlighting the purple ribbon which represents Pancreatic Cancer. The month of November is designated as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
According to the American Cancer Society, around 64,000 individuals will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year. Risk factors include obesity, smoking, preexisting conditions such as chronic pancreatitis and diabetes, and individuals over the age of 45 are more likely of developing the disease.
