Have you ever watched a child pause in genuine awe—whether gazing at the night sky, discovering a hidden pattern in math, or wrestling with a profound idea from a Great Book? That moment of wonder is not a distraction from “real” learning. It is the beginning of it.
Scripture tells us that “the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1). Our Creator hardwired us to marvel. When wonder is cultivated rather than rushed past, it becomes a pathway to wisdom, humility, and worship.

At Rogue Christian Academy, we don’t treat wonder as a nice extra. We see it as essential to classical Christian education—directing every student’s natural curiosity toward truth, goodness, and the One who made it all.

📖 The Pros & Cons of Reading: Why We Champion It at Rogue Christian Academy

At RCA, we are unapologetic about the power of great books to shape young souls for Veritas • Sapientia • Gratia — Truth, Wisdom, and Grace. Reading isn’t just an academic skill; it’s a vital part of forming hearts that love God and love what is good, true, and beautiful.

The Pros:

✅ Forms the mind and character — Great literature stretches imagination, cultivates empathy, teaches virtue, and trains students to think critically and biblically.

✅ Deepens family bonds — Reading aloud together builds memories, sparks meaningful conversations, and models the delight of learning.

✅ Equips for life and faith — From Scripture to classics and beyond, stories help our children discern truth, grow in wisdom, and see the grand narrative of God’s redemptive work.
