🍒🧁 From the cranberry marsh to the kitchen! 🧁🍒

Our 4th graders wrapped up their learning about cranberries by putting their baking skills to the test! They prepared and measured ingredients, filled their muffin cups, and baked their cranberry muffins to perfection.

When it came time to taste their creations, the reviews were mixed! Some thought they tasted delicious, while others decided they were still a little too tart!

Throughout this unit, students incorporated learning from reading and writing, math, food science, and social studies! They created cranberry infographics to showcase what they learned and worked together to create a hallway display featuring their learning and photos from our trip to the Cranberry Innovation Center.

What a fun way to connect multiple subject areas, learn about Wisconsin's cranberry industry, and bring our learning to life! 🍒

☎️ Can you trust what you hear? 👀

Our 8th graders kicked off The Tell-Tale Heart with a classic game of Telephone! Students got a firsthand look at how quickly a message can change as it passes from person to person. 😂

From there, we connected the activity to literature by discussing reliable vs. unreliable narrators. How do we know if we can trust the person telling the story? What clues might reveal that a narrator’s version of events isn’t quite the whole truth?

Now we’re ready to put those questions to the test as we dive into Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart! 🖤📖

7th Grade Ag students have been learning all about the different crops grown in Wisconsin. Today, they attempted to grow their own! Setting up a germination experiment, students will see if they provided their seeds the appropriate amount of space and water to allow their seeds to germinate. The best part? They are using oat seeds from 2017! Last year’s class had an 80% germination rate. Let’s see how this year’s does!

4K students enjoyed "Wacky Wednesday" yesterday!! They walked in the on-site school forest, checking out the pretty colored leaves. Then, they made their own fall tree by fingerprinting the leaves! Just to make clean up a lot more fun, they finished with shaving cream on the tables. They practiced letters, lines, shapes and just had a lot of fun!!!
