There are nine new bestsellers, twelve new children's books, and 47 other new books.

The new bestsellers this week include "Death Row," "The Country Road Murders," and "The True Meaning of Love."

📖 Family Storytime, Wednesdays at 10:45AM 📖
We have a variety of books to look at and share together, as well as songs, fingerplays, small group activities, and also a craft to take home!

Everyone is welcome, including older siblings(!), just remember that the activities and stories during Family Storytime on Wednesdays are geared to ages six and under.

Come visit me Wednesday morning for a story or two as well as music, activities, and play time with friends!

With summer winding down and back to school just around the corner, what better time to take a look back at our summer at Grant Area District Library!

This summer we had more programs and events than ever before!

We welcomed Jurassic Joel from Joel Tacey's Tiptop Entertainment… ✨

We had some animal visitors from ODC Network's Outdoor Discovery Center… 🦅

We were thrilled to welcome Healthy Plant Worm Farm who showed us how important worms are to keeping our soil healthy… 🪱

Ms Joan and Mr Craig from Indian Mounds Rock & Mineral Club (IMRMC) brought us a fun and interactive program to show us how much we can learn from rocks that have existed for years and years… 🪨

Animal Ambassadors from John Ball Zoo braved the heatwave to visit us and talk about how there are animals today that are distantly related to dinosaurs… 🐢

Dr Ellen Holste of EnviroSpeak! brought us an engaging program all about mushrooms and fungi and the amazing things they do under the ground… 🍄

Visitors from the Lakeshore Museum Center / Muskegon Museum of History & Science brought replicas of fossils and helped us make our own molds and a cute dinosaur craft… 🦕

A visit from Critchlow Alligator Sancturary is always exciting and informative… 🐊

Ms Joan from Dynamic School Assemblies closed out our programs this summer with an animal visit, including something none of us had ever seen…baby garter snakes! 🐍

Whew! What a busy and fun summer! Thanks to all of our patrons who joined in the fun events this year!
