Newton County’s youngest learners have been getting hands-on with fresh veggies all year thanks to the USDA Farm to School Grant. From monthly cooking lessons to farm field trips and tons of joyful “I tried it!” moments, the program has reached more than 1,000 Pre‑K and Kindergarten students. We’re sharing a short highlight video today, but trust us… you’ll want to visit the following link to see the full impact.

Tiny chef takeover at the The Battery Atlanta! 👩‍🍳✨🍴

This summer, we had a blast teaming up with Wellstar Health System for their Family Series at The Battery Atlanta!

Families joined us for a Small Bites Adventure Club activation where young chefs practiced safe knife skills, explored the Mystery Bag, and whipped up one of our favorite recipes: Rowdy Ranch with Zucchini! 🥒

Every adventurer left with a recipe card, a Small Bites sticker, and a big sense of PRIDE

School may be out, but our work to help kids discover, eat, and love fruits and vegetables never stops! 🍅🍋🥬🍑🧄🫑🍓

This summer, we popped by Ms. Alexander’s class of rising Kindergarteners at Deerwood Elementary, a Veggie Ready classroom generously supported by the Atlanta Falcons Youth Fund (AFYF) The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, as they set out to make one of our most popular Veggie Ready recipes: Rowdy Ranch with Zucchini! 🥒

It’s always a pleasure to visit the incredible educators who are helping raise the next generation of adventurous eaters.

Thanks to the generous support of the AFYF The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, 200 Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms across Georgia will embark on Veggie Ready adventures and graduate ready for a lifetime of adventurous eating this year. We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on thousands of young learners.

Congratulations to West Jackson Elementary School’s Teresa Swaim, named the 2025–2026 Georgia’s Pre-K Teacher of the Year! 🍎✨

Teresa is part of our Spring 2026 Veggie Ready cohort, and we couldn’t miss this chance to celebrate her incredible achievement. We’re especially proud that she is a a Small Bites educator, bringing hands-on food education and a love for fresh foods into her classroom through fun, engaging activities.

She said it best in a recent recipe survey: “Veggie Ready makes me have the confidence to do these types of activities without hesitation.” Without hesitation!!! We love it.

Congratulations again, Teresa, on this well deserved honor!
