“What does a neurofeedback session actually look like?” 🧠

One of the biggest surprises for people is how simple and relaxing neurofeedback sessions are.

A typical session may include:
✨ settling into a comfortable chair
✨ small sensors placed on the scalp and ears
✨ watching a movie, show, or screen activity
✨ the brain receiving real-time feedback as it practices healthier patterns

There is no pain, no shocks, and no forcing the brain to do anything.

The goal is to help the brain improve regulation, flexibility, focus, and recovery from stress over time.

Many clients describe sessions as calming and easy.

Parents often tell us:

“My child is trying.”
“They’re overwhelmed so easily.”
“They can’t seem to calm down.”
“They’re struggling to focus.”
“They melt down after school.”

Sometimes children are not being difficult.
Sometimes their nervous system is overloaded.

Neurofeedback can support children who struggle with:
• attention and focus
• emotional regulation
• anxiety
• impulsivity
• stress responses
• sleep
• sensory processing challenges

Starting June 1, neurofeedback sessions will officially be available.

We’re excited to support families in a new way.

Today we honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service.
Memorial Day can bring a mix of emotions—gratitude, grief, and reflection. It can also be a reminder to slow down, breathe, and allow space for rest.
Healing and regulation often begin in quiet moments of pause.
Wishing you a peaceful and meaningful Memorial Day.

Rest is healthcare for your nervous system. 💛

You do not have to earn rest through exhaustion.
Small pauses matter. Quiet matters. Sleep matters. Slowing down matters.

Sometimes healing starts with simply giving your brain and body permission to breathe.

🌳 Strong Roots. Healthy Growth.
At The Upside Down Mom, we believe healing happens when the brain and mind work together.

🧠 Neurofeedback helps the nervous system find balance and stability — the strong roots beneath the surface.
💬 Psychotherapy nurtures insight, connection, and emotional growth — the branches reaching upward.

Together, they create lasting change from the inside out.
✨ Brain + Mind = Integrated Healing.

What even IS neurofeedback? 🧠

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive brain training approach that helps the brain learn healthier patterns of regulation.

Think of it like exercise for the brain.

The brain receives real-time feedback about its activity and begins learning how to shift into more balanced states over time.

Clients often seek neurofeedback support for:
• ADHD symptoms
• anxiety
• emotional regulation
• trauma/stress responses
• sleep difficulties
• focus and concentration
• sensory overwhelm
• burnout and nervous system fatigue

No pain. No medication changes. No “zapping” the brain.

Just training the brain toward better regulation and flexibility.
