Tomorrow is the Annual Flo Troeger Golf Tournament at Knollwood CC. All the High School teams in the area are competing there. In 2016 this little unknown team that was formed at Granger Christian Athletics. We got into this tournament. After the round we gathered to eat lunch and tally our team scores. Our #2 golfer was still out finishing his round. Jordan Tancos was tallying in his head at our table, when he said to me, “Coach, I think we won!” I quickly quieted him because there were still players out on the course. Our #2 walked in and the team was quickly asking him what he shot. It was very good! As they were putting team totals up on the board, they added up our score and told the scorer our team total. The Penn coach was writing up the scores on the board and when he was told ours, I could see him say to the person, “we need to re-add that.” Sorry Penn HS, we beat you……best day ever as a golf coach.

Final golf match of the season. It was another fun year. Many things to be happy about. We were a very competitive team in the area. Thanks to all the kids and there commitment to the game.

A very busy week for the Granger Golf Team. After winning the New Buffalo Invite, we followed the week with a win against Elkhart Christian, Jimtown HS, Memorial HS on Thursday. On Friday we competed in the Keappler Invitational, where we placed 3rd behind Penn and St. Joseph. Then we wrapped up the week competing in the Valparasio Invite. We placed 2nd. Guys did a great job in bad weather conditions.

Golfing friends, Nathan’s golf team is doing a fundraiser to try to cover the cost of their matches this season. He is selling cards that give you at least 16 - 1/2 price rounds of golf with a cart for 2somes at area courses. Some are good for 4somes and some are reusable. Even if you only used 2 coupons you would more than cover the cost. He is selling a local and regional version. Please let me know if you are interested. These would make great Father’s Day gifts! It’s a really good deal and it will help these boys continue their season. Thanks

THREE PEAT CHAMPS. New Buffalo High School Invitational held at Berrien Springs Golf Course in St. Joseph, MI. 10 teams competed today. David Counselor was medalist with a 77. Edward Mitchell was also in the top 10 with his career best 84.

Granger Golf Team.
We played yesterday in some of the worst conditions you can play in. Cold, windy, light rain sometimes. Just figured it would snow. But it didn't and we finished 5th out of 15 teams. Wow, what a day!
