WHY CHOOSE A SMALL GROUP?

Private tutoring can be valuable when a student needs intensive, one-on-one support—but small groups offer benefits that individual instruction cannot always replicate.

Students learn by hearing how their peers think, explaining their own ideas, participating in meaningful discussions, and realizing they aren’t the only ones working through a challenging skill. They receive focused support from their teacher while also building communication, collaboration, and confidence alongside other learners.

For many students, that combination of personalized instruction and peer connection is where learning truly begins to click.

SKILLS THAT GO BEYOND ONE ASSIGNMENT

The real goal isn’t just finishing today’s worksheet—it’s helping students build skills they can apply again and again.

We help students understand the strategies behind the work so they can use them independently at school. Whether it’s approaching a challenging text, organizing a written response, or solving a multi-step math problem, students leave with tools they can carry into future assignments and classroom challenges.

PERSONALIZED WITHIN THE GROUP

Students in the same grade don’t always need the same kind of support.

Small groups allow our teachers to adjust questions, examples, and practice based on each student’s needs. One student may need help building a foundation, while another is ready to stretch their thinking—all within the same supportive group.

It’s targeted instruction with the encouragement and connection of learning alongside peers.

✨ SMALL GROUP SPOTLIGHT: MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH HOMEWORK HELP ✨

Middle school students are balancing multiple classes, assignments, projects, and tests. Sometimes, what they need most is dedicated time to slow down, get organized, and complete their work—with a teacher nearby when questions come up.

Students can bring their math homework, unfinished classwork, upcoming projects, or test-review materials. Our teacher will be there to explain confusing concepts, work through challenging problems, and help students study with greater confidence.

It’s structured time to get caught up, ask questions, and leave feeling more prepared for the week ahead.

✨ SMALL GROUP SPOTLIGHT: GRADES 4 & 5 ✨

In fourth and fifth grade, students make the important shift from learning to read to reading deeply across every subject!

Students will strengthen comprehension, vocabulary, and written responses while learning to support their thinking with evidence from the text.

In math, they’ll build confidence with multi-digit operations, fractions, decimals, and multi-step problem-solving.

Our most popular option — intentionally designed so students build confidence not just from their teacher, but from each other. Certified teachers, real curriculum, small by design.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SMALL GROUP?

Every session is thoughtfully planned around the needs of the students in that group.

Our teachers introduce skills, model strategies, guide students through practice, and provide time to apply their learning independently. With six students or fewer, there is room to slow down, ask questions, and make sure each student truly understands—not just finishes—the work.

Second and third grade are important years for building the skills that turn beginning readers into confident, independent readers!

Students will strengthen phonics and decoding through Fundations, build reading fluency and comprehension, develop clearer sentences and organized writing, and grow their number sense and problem-solving skills in math.
