Euro Steps are everywhere in today’s game - but finding ways to really explore and improve the Euro is limited.

That’s why this series is so valuable. It gives players fresh ways to develop the move, while even matching some of the same characteristics we saw Sengun pull off in-game.

It’s not complicated. You just need to make your process more intentional.

Yes, I wish I shot the ball more. This may be a little controversial, but sometimes the only difference between making the jump to the next level is the shots you’re willing and capable of taking. Just make sure you put in the time to back them up. 🏀

Want the quickest release on the floor?
Grab a partner, grab a roller, and rep this.

2017. A Kyrie3 pop-up in New York City. I’m running the workout and this undersized guard from Brooklyn is going harder than anyone in the building.

I couldn’t have predicted exactly where he’d end up. But I did know he’d chase it with everything he had.

Nine years later, he is back home - coming off the bench to spark the biggest comeback in Finals history for his New York Knicks. The kind of player you never count out, because he never counts himself out.

Skill is built and fight is chosen. Jose has both.

Kids - keep dreaming.

Alvarado’s Skill IQ is on full display here.

Alvarado isn’t reacting to Wemby in real time - he’s placing a bet on how Wemby must guard him based on the situation.

The key is that he never betrays the technique.

Driving and stopping require different step lengths. The step used to accelerate isn’t the same step used to stop. In other words, you can’t stop in the middle of a step that was placed down to drive.

To stop efficiently, you have to know you’re stopping before the foot hits the floor.

That’s what makes this so effective. Alvarado commits to the drive technique long enough to force the defensive response, then transitions at exactly the right moment.

Skill isn’t just ex*****on. It’s ex*****on without revealing your intentions.

I don’t like it when Jump Stops are taught as the primary way to stop, but I love this combo.

- Jump Stop
- Shot Fake
- Step Thru

Long deceleration steps don’t just hurt your spacing.
They make your stop too easy to read.

The fix isn’t just shorter steps. It’s keeping your drive intent despite the stop.

Remind your body what it feels like to drive - then make sure that doesn’t disappear when you pull up to shoot.

Most “athletic finishes” you see? They’re pre-determined.

The player jumped already knowing they were bringing the ball back down. Could they change their mind if the defense didn’t respond? Sure. But assuming it’s an in-air reaction is just wrong.

So work on it. Rep the movement. Dont even worry about having a defender. Then bring it into games with intention.

People will think you’re reacting in mid-air also.

This is a turn push. And here’s a great way to target it in a 1on1 setting.
