🐄✨ Homeschool moms—save this one for your next phonics lesson!

We turned Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type into a hands-on rhyming word activity, and it’s exactly the kind of learning that makes homeschool feel less like “school at home” and more like learning through play. 🤍

The kids feed the cow the cards that rhyme, giving them practice with:
🐮 hearing and identifying rhyming words
🌱 strengthening phonological awareness
📚 connecting literacy skills to a favorite read-aloud
✋ learning through hands-on play

And can we talk about how much more willing kids are to practice a skill when they get to feed a cow?! 😂

This would be such a fun addition to a farm unit, fall homeschool plans, morning basket, literacy centers, or a Click, Clack, Moo book study.

5 senses… but make it FARM themed! 🐄🌽🍎

This was such a fun way to turn our five senses lesson into something hands-on, visual, and memorable! 🤍

We talked about what we might SEE 👀, HEAR 👂, SMELL 👃, FEEL ✋, and TASTE 👅 on a farm, and then the kids illustrated and labeled their own ideas.

I love activities like this because we’re working on so many skills at once—science vocabulary, speaking and listening, drawing, labeling, and early writing. ✏️

And give a child some markers and a giant barn-shaped recording sheet and suddenly it’s very serious business. 😂🐮

Perfect for a farm unit, five senses unit, preschool science lesson, kindergarten science activity, or fall homeschool theme. 🍂

🍎 Apple math—but make it hands-on, seasonal, and FUN. 🍏✨

If you’re looking for an easy fall homeschool math activity, this is one you’ll want to save.

We turned our apple theme into hands-on number practice with mini apples, ten frames, and simple counting activities. Instead of just seeing a number on a worksheet, little learners can touch it, count it, build it, and write it—which makes early math feel so much more concrete. 🍎

There are so many skills tucked into one simple setup:

🍏 counting and one-to-one correspondence
🔢 number recognition
✏️ number formation
🧮 ten-frame practice
👀 visual quantity recognition
🧠 number sense
🤲 hands-on fine motor practice

I especially love activities like this for our homeschool because the manipulatives can be used over and over. Pick a number, count out that many apples, build it on the ten frame, then practice writing the numeral. Simple enough for a regular homeschool morning, but engaging enough that it feels like play.

And that little apple tree? 🍎🌳 Such a fun way to extend the lesson with counting, color sorting, patterns, or simple addition and subtraction.

One picture book can turn into an entire homeschool lesson. 🌳📚✨

Tap the Magic Tree by Christie Matheson is such a fun read-aloud for exploring the four seasons because kids get to interact with the story as the tree changes throughout the year.

We paired our reading with a simple four seasons tree activity, and it’s exactly the kind of homeschool lesson I love—hands-on, meaningful, and easy to pull together. 🍎🍂❄️🌸

As we created each tree, we talked about what happens during spring, summer, fall, and winter: how the leaves change, what the weather feels like, and what we notice outside during each season.

And while it looks like a cute craft, there’s so much learning tucked inside:

🌳 understanding the four seasons
🗣️ seasonal vocabulary and discussion
🔎 observing changes in nature
📚 making connections to a read-aloud
🎨 fine motor + creative practice
🧠 sequencing and comparing

This is one of my favorite things about homeschooling—you can take a beautiful picture book and build an entire learning experience around it without making it complicated.

Learning to count doesn’t have to mean another worksheet. 🚗⛽️

We turned a simple gas station theme into an easy hands-on homeschool math activity using pom-poms—and it was such a fun way to practice counting and number recognition.

Pick a card, look at how much “gas” the car needs, then count out the correct number of pom-poms to fill the cup. ⛽️

It’s simple, colorful, and gives little hands something to DO while they’re learning.

We’re practicing:

🔢 Number recognition
🧮 One-to-one correspondence
✋ Fine motor skills
🧠 Counting with purpose

This is the kind of low-prep homeschool activity I love—learning through play without making it complicated.

🌷🐝 Welcoming spring with books + art! 📚🎨✨

Today we paired When Spring Comes with a colorful spring-inspired art activity. Through reading and creating, we explored the beauty of the changing seasons while practicing creativity, fine motor skills, and self-expression.

One of the things I love most about homeschooling is slowing down and noticing the little signs of spring—blooming flowers, buzzing bees, rainy days, and fresh beginnings. Bringing a story to life with art makes learning meaningful and memorable. 💕🌸

Learning doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes all you need is a great book, a few art supplies, and a little imagination. 🌈
