Our fingers can’t become a Folded Plate, but look how much stronger an arch is compared to a flat shape! This is why I teach piano students to curve their hands; it creates a strong structure to support the power of the arm muscles that create the sound.

Day 2 of the MMTA Conference was long, but good! I learned so many things last weekend that I'm excited to use in my studio in the coming months.

This weekend I get to attend the MMTA State Conference! I’m enjoying learning more about piano teaching, hearing beautiful piano music, and hanging out with teacher friends. Another full and fun day tomorrow!

Rachel and Ms. Deanna play Polka (Op. 280, No. 2) and Beauty and the Beast

In May of this year we held our annual Spring Recital. This year was An Ensemble Recital; for the first time each student played at least one duet or trio.

Rachel was preparing to play Beauty and the Beast with a different partner, but at the last minute her partner was unable to come to the recital. Fortunately Rachel's years of experience helped her to adapt and we were able to deliver a great performance! Well done, Rachel!

Sam and Ms. Deanna play Celebration Overture

In May of this year we held our annual Spring Recital. This year was An Ensemble Recital; for the first time each student played at least one duet or trio.

Sam is an 8th grade student this year; this duet was unique because I played this piece as an 8th grader with my piano teacher back in...ahem...2005. 🤯 What a cool memory!
