As a professional childcare provider, my responsibility is to provide quality childcare by updating and complying with my requirements. By creating an environment that is sensitive to each child's, social, emotional, intellectual, physical needs. This includes helping children with lessons that
will continue throughout their lives such as self esteem, cooperation, problem- solving and respect for others. I will strive each day to provide peace of mind to parents who have entrusted the care of their children to me. I also think young children feel secure in our home day care because of the smaller number of child companions in smaller groups. Our children can learn more easily to overcome shyness and establish friendships. I understand how difficult it can be for working parents to balance all of their commitments and responsibilities in their lives. For this reason I strive to offer a program that will enrich your child’s development while putting your mind at ease. I will do my best to assist your child in developing important values such as: good manners, caring/sharing, patience, responsibility, compassion for self and others, as well as communication and teamwork. I believe children learn best through play, and we will implement these important values throughout our day. I also offer daily preschool activities to help ready your child for Kindergarten. He/she will learn to recognize the alphabet, shapes, colors, numbers, as well as beginning reading and writing skills. It is my goal to offer your family the quality childcare experience you deserve. I graduated from Pine Technical Community College with my AAS Early Childhood Development Degree. The courses I took meet Minnesota Department of Human Services educational requirements for assistant teachers and teachers in licensed childcare and preschool settings, before/after-school programs, as a family childcare program provider as well as paraprofessional/aides/assistant teacher requirements in Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) in school districts. I learned about child growth and development, positive child guidance, working with diverse families and professionals, nutrition, health and safety, cultural sensitivity and anti-bias education practices, and strategies for developing curriculum that promotes learning in young children with differing needs.
