This photo is exactly why I love working with photographers who truly care about their couples.

Anyone can photograph a cake.

But capturing the moment a couple sees it for the first time? That's different.

As cake artists, we spend hours obsessing over every detail, hoping it feels as special as the day itself. Seeing their reaction is a reminder that what we create is about so much more than dessert.

It's about being part of a memory.

I'm especially grateful for photographers who care deeply about their couples and also about the creative team behind the day. They understand that every detail represents an investment, not just financially, but emotionally. They know the flowers, the stationery, the cake, and every thoughtful touch are all part of the story their couple has worked so hard to create.

When vendors genuinely support one another, those details don't just get documented, they get celebrated.

Last night was a special one for The City of Grand Rapids , and I’m so honored that Sweet Details GR got to be a tiny part of it.

We created custom cookies for the team behind the very first show at the new Acrisure Amphitheater: the Lionel Richie concert. These treats were made for the tour staff and all the people working behind the scenes to bring an event like this to life.

It’s always incredible to see how many moving pieces, long hours, and talented people come together to create experiences that a city will remember for years.

Grateful to have contributed a sweet detail to such a historic night for Grand Rapids.
