Please congratulate our Teacher of the Year, Andrea Johnson!
Andrea has been a member of the Piano Teachers’ Forum since 1999 and has served in various roles over the years. In addition to serving as president not once, but twice, Andrea also served as SAT chair for 10 years. Andrea is always highly organized and professional, giving generously of her time out of a deep love for our members. She is wise beyond her years. Andrea is also an excellent pianist and a wonderful piano teacher.
We are so grateful to Andrea for her gracious gift of service to our Forum.

We are heartbroken to share the passing of Ann Schein, a beloved member of our piano faculty and a cherished presence in the Peabody community for decades.
An internationally renowned soloist and one of the great Chopin pianists of her generation, Ann brought the same devotion to her students that she brought to every stage she graced. Her teaching was full of warmth, rigor, and genuine care for the artists in her studio.
Ann was also a Peabody alumna, a 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, and the unforgettable performer at a special concert we were honored to celebrate with her here in Baltimore in 2019. Her husband and fellow faculty member, Earl Carlyss, passed away earlier this year.
We hold their daughters, loved ones, and especially Ann's current students close in this moment. Her bright smile and brilliant artistry will be deeply missed. 🕊️
