You go, girl!
Former fellow, Amelia VanWyck, is graduating with a well-crafted, conceptually strong body of work that embodies (literally) a harsh critique of dehumanizing gynecological practices developed by male physicians without regard for their female patients.
{un}veild is urrently on view at Gvsu's Padnos Gallery. Swipe to see various works, statement, and the doily dress Amelia donned for her opening reception.

This summer at MACV studios we worked with the YMCA to teach some young friends from the Cook Arts Center how to make a mural. We worked on this piece for a month, and the kids did some amazing work. Soon this mural will be up at Pedro Clemente Park for all of you to see in person. We will be uploading some more pictures of the process soon!

It's been a craaaaazzzy semester! So busy, we've fallen off the instawagon. But, here's a little pic of our studio visit with GR artist Jonathan Kloote back in March. We got the full tour of the wood shop (always impeccably organized), and some QT with the man himself.
Check out Jonathan's work at
..and in the meantime, we'll try to catch up on posts!

The image of a happy artist who finally finished painting a mural with her favorite shade of green. Thank you for an amazing year. I'm so proud of you for being able to collapse an extension ladder without injuring yourself!

Things are happening at HQ! We're painting spaces, constructing installations, sewing massive sheets of fake flowers and even having tricycle races?! The Godfrey corridor is buzzing with life and we're so glad to be part of the buzz. Thank you, .gr for helping us find our new home!

Last semester the fellows worked on a large mixed media fiber piece, with a dilapidated chair as the base. Is it finished yet? Of course not! That's why we'll be working on this again THIS semester! You know, some (most) projects just take more time than you plan.
