There will be a styrofoam collection on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 10:00am-3:00pm at Crossroads Middle School. The trailer will be located near the tennis courts across from Crossroads side parking lot. Dart container will take the collection to Mason Michigan where it will be processed back to plastic pellets and then made into a variety of products. Styrofoam needs to be clean and dry. It can be stained but no pieces of food or dirt Styrofoam (polystyrene) is a #6 plastic and is easy to break and crumble. We do not collect foam #4 which is more "stretchy" and doesn't break apart. We also do not collect the pressed insulation boards that "flake" away.. There is a PaperGator close by so feel free to put junk mail, old magazines, and all forms of paper products (including paperboard such as cereal boxes, kleenex boxes, etc). Please NO cardboard. Styrofoam Collection 2024: We WILL be having our annual styrofoam collection at Crossroads Middle School. We do NOT have a date set yet, but it should be at the end of May or first week of June. Start saving your Styrofoam and if your collection is too large to store, please email me at [email protected] Reminder: Styrofoam must be clean and dry AND styrofoam crumbles easily. We do not accept the #4 plastic foam that doesn't crumble.

During National Canned Food Month, we remind our MMWA residents that steel/tin cans that hold food are very recyclable. No need to peel off the paper label since it will come off in the recycling process. Make sure you rinse your cans before placing them in the bin.

Tomorrow (June 3) is the recycling day at CROSSROADS from 10:00-2:00. Look for the DART semi truck near the tennis courts.
