“Some nights feel ordinary until you look up”
The Flower Moon rises tomorrow… and most people won’t even notice.
On May 1, step outside just after sunset and look east the Moon will climb the horizon glowing warm and golden, appearing larger than usual in a quiet illusion of perspective.
This is the Flower Moon, named for the wild blooms covering spring landscapes and this year, it’s a micromoon, slightly farther away, softer… almost more intimate.
-Where to look: Eastern horizon
-Best moment: 60–90 minutes after sunset
No telescope. No setup. Just you… and the sky.
Some nights feel ordinary until you look up.

Many classmates came to Steve Larkin’s funeral last Friday. There was a lovely service and full military internment at the cemetery across the street. Since I made a dramatic , hurried exit I thought I would use this opportunity to explain and ask for your prayers. My phone being off for mass, my Dr dispatched my daughter to come get me and take me to emergency at Butterworth Hospital as a result of some recent testing. I was given a diagnosis of multiple myeloma blood cancer that had spread throughout the bone marrow to create random significant lesions in my brain, back and femur. Tho’ not curable it is highly treatable surgery was ruled out as risk adverse but they began cancer treatment immediately and I will be released by Wednesday and begin chemo therapy followed by radiation followed by stem cell replacement. The last thing the Dr said was”you will be fine and with us for many years. Our goal is to keep you stable until the next level of protocol comes out because something is always in development. “ God willing. I received the Sacrament of Healing and caring & support from so many family & friends I feel not alone and at peace, trusting in God’s will. But I will take all the prayers I can get and do the same for all of you! 💖🌈🙏 Sally Davidson Henderson.
