🏃‍♂️💨 What an beautiful day to run our race!
On Friday, May 29, OSLS hosted a fantastic invitational track meet for Jr. K–8th grade athletes. The energy was electric as we welcomed talented students from ISJ Academy and homeschool families from area Lutheran congregations.
From sprints to long jumps, smiles to personal bests — it was a day full of competition, community, and joy! So proud of every athlete who showed up, cheered loud, and gave it their all, and so grateful for everyone who helped make the day a huge success- especially Mrs. Norcross!
We loved hosting you all! ❤️

Reading is an adventure! 📚 We had the best day celebrate reading at Our Savior Lutheran School!

Students dressed as their favorite character from The Chronicles of Narnia Series as we celebrated our year-long read of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The whole school enjoyed Drop Everything and Read time and the opportunity to “shop” our free book fair to find some great new summer reads. A huge thank you to The Last Chapter, here in Grand Rapids, for donating 12 boxes of early readers and others children’s titles for our book fair. 📖

As summer approaches, we continue to focus on the habit of reading - which is not simply a school activity - but a lifelong habit bringing delight, wonder, and knowledge to our lives.

Spring means butterflies 🦋! Ms. Tausz’s class marveled at the incredible process of metamorphosis as they watched caterpillars grow and transform into beautiful butterflies in their class before releasing them into the wild. We give thanks for the the marvelous gift of Creation and the opportunity to observe and study the natural world. 🌎

Art class was very patriotic at Our Savior Lutheran School with a little spontaneous singing of the National Anthem breaking out as students were working on their drawings of George Washington praying at Valley Forge! 🇺🇸

Last week the Our Savior Lutheran family shared numerous acts of love and kindness with our faculty and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. Classrooms were filled with beautiful bouquets, favorite treats were savored, and the bountiful lunch reminded us of all the daily bread the LORD so richly provides. Thank you!

Most of all, we are grateful for the prayers and words of encouragement you continually share. We are humbled to labor with you on behalf of our students, planting the seeds of the Gospel so that our children will know God’s love and mercy and follow Him all their days. May this good work be well pleasing to our God and Father!
