After participating in the Germany/European Union study abroad program, Davenport undergraduate student Ali Zlatanovic has covered a lot of ground. "We travelled some 1500 miles on that trip!" he said enthusiastically, "13 cities, 10 or 11 businesses and too many historical sites to count!"
What makes Ali's comments all the more exciting is that he is no stranger to Germany. "I lived there for about 10 years, but I never saw Germany like this." That's because Ali had the opportunity to experience Germany with Dr. Frank Novakowski and Dr. Mitchell Place, two DU instructors who have taken their passion for Germany and turned into a virtual classroom from students.
For Ali, getting an insider's view of business in the 21st century was the biggest benefit of participating in program. "What people do, what they believe, how they think-all of this is involved in business. After going on this trip, I definitely feel I have a better understanding of how cross-cultural issues factor into business in the globalized setting."
The program is not limited to just one country either. In June the program includes trips to France, the Czech Republic and Austria. Dates for the 2010 trip are June 7 - 28 and the estimated cost amounts to $4,250. For more information, contact Professor Frank Novakowski at [email protected]
