Expo week.

The week we look forward to the most…
and the week everything is due.

You can feel it—
the pressure, the nerves, the “what if it’s not good enough?”

But this is where the real learning happens.

Because at LAKE, we don’t run from that feeling—
we lean into it.

What do you do when you’re feeling overwhelmed?
You do it.

What do you do when you’re not sure it’s perfect?
You do it.

What do you do when there’s a lot on your plate?
You lock in… and you do it anyway.

This is life.

Deadlines don’t go away.
Pressure doesn’t disappear.
But confidence is built in moments like this -
When you show up, push through, and finish what you started.

That’s what this week is about.
And this is where confidence is built. 👊

I didn’t plan on starting a school.

I just couldn’t find one that felt right for my boys.

I wanted more for them.
More than just getting through the day or checking boxes.

I wanted them to learn how to think, connect, and lead.

And I kept asking myself…
why are we waiting so long to teach kids the things that actually matter?

So we stopped waiting.

We built something different.

And what we’re seeing now is exactly why.

Confident kids.
Curious kids.
Kids who love learning and care about others.

We’re just getting started.

At LAKE Academy, learning doesn’t stay on paper.

This session our LAKE kids are diving into engineering and architecture, and their challenge was simple:

🏡 Design the ultimate treehouse.

What happened next was totally awesome!

Slides.
Fishing ponds.
Secret ladders.
Observation decks.

Some were designed for adventure.
Some were designed for relaxing.
Some were designed for both.

But the real magic of this project is what happens next.

The kids will vote on a winning design… and then we’re actually going to build it on our LAKE campus.

Not a model.
Not a drawing.

A real treehouse that future LAKE kids will climb, explore, and enjoy.

Because at LAKE Academy, when kids have an idea they’re excited about, we don’t just talk about it.

We bring it to life.

🌟 Congratulations to our Sparks Guide, Jerzie Colter! 🌟

We are so proud to celebrate our very own LAKE Academy Sparks Guide, Jerzie Colter, for earning not one but two Montessori Teaching Diplomas — in Early Childhood and Lower Elementary!

This incredible accomplishment reflects Jerzie’s deep commitment to growth and to understanding how children learn best. The Montessori philosophy aligns beautifully with what we do here at LAKE Academy — nurturing curiosity, independence, and a genuine love of learning.

Jerzie brings this same heart ❤️ and intentionality into her work with our little Sparks each day. She guides them with patience, respect, and creativity — helping them take ownership of their learning, build confidence, and develop real-world skills that last far beyond the classroom.
