Several of my students have been moving along at a similar pace and are now working on reading and spelling two-syllable words. This is my FAVORITE step. This is where the importance of understanding the structure of words is brilliantly illustrated. A whole new world of reading opens up when a student can readily decode two syllable words. Reading becomes easier so they read more, making reading even more natural. I LOVE this part!
