Grand Rapids initiative helps students access college resources at MLK Community Center A new initiative in Grand Rapids offers crucial support for students and families on their college journey.

🎉 Save the Date! 🎉 Join us for our annual Back to School Celebration!

This is a vibrant event for students K-12 to come out for a FREE Haircut/Hairstyle, School Supplies, and also the chance to meet the Mentors and Students of Endless Opportunities. Students will be served on a first come first serve basis so please arrive early to ensure your student receives a haircut/hairstyle. Volunteer’s onsite will be hosting numerous activities, resource tables, and most importantly encouraging our students to succeed academically. Come enjoy this wonderful family event to kick off the school year.

Please be sure to support by sponsoring a students haircut/hairstyle and school supplies for only $20! All donations can be made online at https://www.endlessopportunities.org/donate.

There will be:

💡This week's Student Spotlight: Chyna Jackson!
Chyna's journey with OCC began in 7th grade through KidsSpeak, where she first discovered her passion for advocacy and using her voice to make a difference. Since then, she has participated in Mayor's Youth Council, GRow1000, and supported To College Through College (T2C).
Through these experiences, she developed leadership skills, built confidence, and discovered a passion for serving others. As a GRow1000 participant at Baxter Community Center, she works directly with children, creating a positive environment that has strengthened her goal of becoming a school social worker.
Today, she's a sophomore at Ottawa Hills High School, where she's involved in varsity softball, cheerleading, choir, and student leadership. She continues to advocate for youth through public speaking and community involvement and was recently recognized as Youth of the Year.
"These programs have done so much more than prepare me for school or work—they've helped me discover my purpose."

This new space keeps getting better and better!🤩

The T2C Studio is still located at the Grand Rapids Public Library Main Branch location, but you can also come see us at the MLK Park Community Center on Wednesdays and Thursdays for the remainder of the summer!

OCC is now housed inside the new MLK Community Center. As we are adding some of the final touches to our space, this is our daily reminder. Kudos to City of Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation facilities staff who meticulously put this up today.

(T2C) Studio Days at MLK are happening now! Every Wednesday and Thursday through August 20th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside the Our Community’s Children suite at MLK Community Center. Come see us for college planning!
