Aquinas College Chorus gave a surprise performance at the memorial for Sr. Aquinas Weber, O.P. on Sunday, ahead of their concert. It was a beautiful tribute!

DID YOU KNOW...that the Aquinas College Choirs have their own mascot? This little guy has followed Dr. Ford for decades and travelled all over the world with choirs (with only minor damage). Frumious J. Bandersnatch, or Frumie for short, at one time even had his own website. Students often take him with them on spring break, vacations, etc. too. It's a long origin story, but the short version is that the Frumious Bandersnatch is a character mentioned in the poem Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll (from Through the Looking Glass). As it happens, College Chorus will be singing an arrangement of Jabberwocky at their spring concert on Sunday, April 26 at 3pm in Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel on campus. Come hear this wonderful piece, along with some other incredible music (and you might even catch a glimpse of Frumie)!

You may have noticed a change in the look of our choirs at Aquinas College lately! Thanks to a generous donation from one of our benefactors, the AQ Choirs now wear these spiffy blazers as part of their uniform. We are so grateful for the support from the Aquinas community, and the students wear these with pride as members of one of the oldest organizations at our institution! If you'd like to see the blazers in person, come to our Spring Choir Concert on Sunday, April 26 in Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel on the AQ campus at 3pm. Tonight- Solemnity of the Annunication, Dedication of the new pipe organ at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church! 7pm Mass with Aquinas College Chorus singing Haydn Missa Brevis and MacMillan’s Ave Maria.

Aquinas College Chamber Singers held a beautiful Lenten Choral Meditations last night at Saint Patrick Parish - Parnell. You can hear them again Thursday at St. Isidore the Laborer Church Grand Rapids at 7pm, or Friday for a Choral Stations of the Cross at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 7pm.
