Raiders Split Opening Day at NJCAA World Series, Advance to Elimination Matchup Wednesday - GRCC Athletics MAY 19, 2026, SPARTANBURG, SC – The Grand Rapids Community College softball team opened play at the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series with a split on Tuesday in Spartanburg, defeating 17-seed Bryant & Stratton College 8-3 before falling to top-ranked and No. 1 seed Kirkwood Community College...

Total team effort in game one of the NJCAA DII College World Series this morning. 17 players saw the field for the Raiders who pounded out 13 hits (at least one in every inning) including the 6th where they scored 5 runs on 5 hits!

Freshmen Kenady O'Leary (2B, 3B, HR) and Caitlin Horvath each had 3 hits, while Tia Schone (HR) added two big hits.

Three different pitchers saw the circle for the Raiders, including starter Kalani Stowe who had to come back in the game in the 7th and she didn't disappoint, striking out 3, to give her a game total of 9! Megan Lillie officially picked up the win, improving to 16-0.

The Raiders will now take on #1 Kirkwood at 4pm.

GAME DAY here at the World Series! The softball team battles Bryant & Stratton it its first round game at 11am. If they win, they will take on #1 ranked Kirkwood at 4pm.
