At Hope Academy, we are starting our March is Reading Month celebrations! March Reading Month is a celebration that encourages readers of all ages to dive into new stories, explore different genres, and build lifelong literacy skills. We will host themed reading challenges, a book fair, and creative activities to make reading fun and engaging throughout the month. It’s a wonderful reminder that every book opened is a new adventure waiting to begin. Please read with your child everyday and enjoy all the celebrations!

Count Day is almost here! On October 1st, every student present in school helps support school funding for the entire year. As always, please ensure your student is present in class on October 1st.

We’re excited to share that our Superintendent, Dr. Heidi Cate, has been honored with the Conveners Value Award at this year’s Summer Summit, presented by Youth Solutions!

This award recognizes leaders who bring people together, build strong partnerships, and align efforts that create greater opportunities for Michigan’s youth. Dr. Cate's commitment to collaboration and student-centered leadership continues to open doors for our students and community.

One powerful example of this work is our partnership with Youth Solutions to offer the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) program at Hope Academy of West Michigan. JMG is a student-centered model that supports youth both in and out of school by focusing on:

✅ Dropout prevention and recovery
✅ School-to-career transition
✅ Career exploration and employment training
✅ Postsecondary education readiness
✅ Emotional well-being through trauma-informed support

We’re proud to celebrate Dr. Cate’s well-deserved recognition! Her ongoing dedication, along with the commitment of Hope Academy staff and school leaders, ensures that every student receives the support and opportunities they need to succeed.
