After 9 years with Irwin, we’re excited to celebrate Cheryl Kooistra as she begins her well-deserved retirement.
As our Hourly Payroll Administrator, Cheryl has been a trusted and essential resource for our hourly and production teams. Her attention to detail, consistency, and deep knowledge ensured employees were supported in ways that truly mattered. During our transition to UKG, Cheryl played a key role in guiding the organization through change, helping create a smooth and confident path forward.
Cheryl’s impact reached far beyond payroll. She brought energy, personality, and heart to everything she did—from supporting event planning and contributing to Charity Team efforts to simply making the day a little more fun with music and positivity.
She also brought honesty and authenticity to her work and her team. Cheryl wasn’t afraid to share her perspective, and that openness helped strengthen those around her and the way we work together.
Cheryl has made a lasting impression on so many, not only as a teammate but as a true friend. Her support, kindness, and presence will be deeply missed across Irwin.
Cheryl, thank you for everything you’ve given over the past 9 years. We wish you all the best in this next chapter and a joyful, fulfilling retirement!

After more than 40 years with Irwin, it’s time to wish Steve Finney a very happy (and well-earned) retirement.
Since starting in 1983, Steve has brought incredible knowledge, curiosity, and dedication to his work. From designing the iconic Marquee Chair—still a product of choice more than four decades later—to advancing human-centered design and comfort across our portfolio, his impact is woven into Irwin’s history.
Steve’s contributions extended far beyond product design. Over the years, he held leadership roles across engineering, manufacturing, and operations, always championing a “learn by doing” mindset and a culture of continuous improvement. His approach to creativity and lifelong learning helped shape teams, develop future leaders, and strengthen our organization for generations to come.
Steve has made a lasting impression on countless employees, and while he will certainly be missed, his legacy will continue to be felt across Irwin.
Steve, thank you for your dedication. We wish you all the best in this next chapter!
