Connected to Nature is one of the four pillars that is beginning to shape a Legacy Christian education, and right now you can see this starting to take physical form at Legacy’s East Campus. As part of Phase One of our outdoor learning initiative, the learning pavilion is going up. Today, as families visit Legacy for the Back to School gathering, they will be seeing it in person for the first time. This is the space where students can step outside the traditional classroom and learn in nature.
Just off the pavilion will sit our garden circle, a gathering space built for hands on learning. Raised garden beds will line the edges where students will plant, tend, and harvest right outside their learning space. A bunny hutch brings a small piece of animal care into lessons, and a seating area at the center gives the whole space a place to pause, reflect, and connect as a group.
