CBC High School Group

Who is free tomorrow night? We have National Night Out at my neighborhood. Many of you have helped in the past and have had a lot of fun. Dinner is provided. Please be to my house by 5:30 if you can help.

Who is available tomorrow morning at 10am to help move boxes at church with Pastor Chad and I? Lunch will be provided.

Clean up day tomorrow at 9am.

For those of you that remember Marshall Jackson, he is going to be in town October 3-10 and is looking to get a group together to go to the Switchfoot concert in Royal Oak, Michigan October 4. Tickets are around $33 with the convenience fee. Let me know if you are interested. You would have to figure out transportation, etc.

Homemade vehicles

Help us serve at Bibles International Banquet. We need the following things done.

First off, I could really use their help in stacking the chairs on Wed, 10/17. I will, of course, give a donation to the teen program for doing this.

On the 18th, it would be great if CBC kids could help in the following areas. Please comment below with the thing you are able to help with.

1. Greeters - guys or girls - at the front door of the church. Requires holding the door open and welcoming the guests as they enter the building. The kids should know to not be talking amongst themselves as they hold the doors open, but to be focused on the guests.

1 on the sidewalk - prefer this be a guy. He is to help older guests being dropped off at the curb out of their car and, if needed, walking them to the door.

2. Punch Bowl Tables - prefer girls. Girls will ladle the punch into cups and set out for guests. They should be naturally friendly and greet the guests as they come for punch.

3. Runners to supply punch and cheese tables - guys or girls. Debbie King will be supervising this position. Will require mixing up the punch and running it to the tables to keep the punch bowls full. Requires coordination so punch is not spilled and must be able to pour it into the bowls in such a manner as to not slosh or spill. Also will check the cheese and cracker stations and keep them supplied as well. A good position for those who are more task oriented than people oriented.

4. Auditorium ushers - prefer guys. Will greet and assist guests in finding their tables as they enter the auditorium. Will work with several BI staff members, including Eric Elmer.

If you cannot fill these positions, let me know, and I can see if more can be found from another youth group that is helping. Also, if you have more guys than girls or more girls than guys, I can do some juggling with the positions.

The girls should be in a dress or skirt that comes to at least their knees. I recommend they wear flat shoes for safety's sake. The guys should be in a button down shirt (any color is fine) with either black or khaki slacks and appropriate footwear.

I am looking for people who would be willing to learn the Audio/Video stuff in Bengert Hall. If you are interested, please let me know. You will be used on Sunday Mornings and also during special events that are held in Bengert Hall during the week.

For those of you that would like to rake leaves and help a family out at the same time, contact Scott Teesdale. If you are in National Honors Society, this would be a great community service project!
