Next up, Miss Goshey! She is present within and around the school. She loves Jesus, cats and Christmas. Depending on the day, she may wear multiple hats - classroom teacher, principal, specialist teacher - she isn’t afraid to jump in where she is needed!

1) How long have you been at St. Joseph's Catholic School? 7 years

2) What other roles have you held in education? I have taught 4th, 6th, 1st, and kindergarten.

3) What inspired you to become a principal? The good Lord above with a little help from St.Therese asked me to work on my Master's Degree years ago because He needed me to be a principal somewhere. He knows best and I am always happy to follow His plan and will.

4) What makes our school special? Everyone who walks through our school doors! They always bring joy, hospitality, and a great sense of community. It is a privilege to be able to belong in such a welcoming and faith filled community.

5) Favorite book, movie or holiday tradition? One of my favorite books is, and I know this is going to be a shocker, A Christmas Carol. I love to read it every year during my Christmas season, which typically runs from October-March.

6) Looking at this school year, what are your top 3 highlights? Watching students enjoy the new playground, Mary Around the World Day and visiting our new friends in their nursing homes.

7)What are you looking forward to next school year? I am looking forward to our accreditation visit in the fall and working on a new 7 year school strategic plan to keep providing the best we can to all of our students, families, and staff.

We are incredibly grateful and blessed to have this “Dream Team” as two of the first people you will see upon entering the school. If you’re lucky you’ll catch Miss Goshey and Mrs. Watland singing a tune together - they work hard and have fun together - a perfect mix! Thank you both for ALL you do and all you did this school year to make the year a great one!

As we look back at a wonderful school year, we want to round out our Staff Shout Outs by giving a big shout out to our front office “Dream Team” - Mrs. Watland and Miss Goshey!

Whether you are dropping off a forgotten lunchbox, discussing your child's academic journey, or just stopping by to say hello, Mrs. Watland and Miss Goshey are here to support our wonderful community with open doors and joyful hearts.

We will begin with Mrs. Watland! The theme song from Cheers may pop into your brain when you think of Mrs. Watland - “Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came!” Upon entering the school, she greets you with a smile, asks how you are doing, knows all the details about what your children need and might even ask about how your family is doing! She keeps everyone and everything in order and finds the answer to most questions you may have!

1) How long have you worked at St. Joseph's Catholic School and what roles have you held here? In November of 2008 I started as Playground Supervisor and stayed in that position until summer of 2016 when I was offered the position of School Secretary.

2) What is the best part about working at the school? The smiling faces of the children.

3) If you could have a superpower, what would it be? To eat anything I wanted and never gain weight. Is that a superpower?

4) How does faith influence your daily work?Because I am one of the first people visitors see I think/hope my faith helps me model patience and kindness.

5) Favorite way to relax after a busy day? That depends on the time of year, spring & fall, relaxing on the deck listening to the sounds all around. Winter under a heated blanket watching a professional tennis tournament.
