What a special day in GDA history as we celebrated our first graduating class of scholars!

These trailblazers have helped shape the foundation of Gerald Dawkins Academy, and we are so proud of the hard work, growth, and perseverance they have shown.

As they continue on their journeys, to become engineers, teachers, electricians, nurses, plumbers, hairdressers, real estate agents, lawyers, and excellent members of their communities we wish them the BEST!

Our 5th graders recently spent the day at Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes BizTown, where learning truly came to life! 💙

Students had the opportunity to run businesses, apply for jobs, manage finances, work as citizens, and experience what it takes to operate a real community. From writing checks and making deposits to customer service and teamwork, our students stepped into real-world roles with confidence and excitement.

What an incredible hands-on experience preparing our scholars for the future! We are so proud of the leadership, responsibility, and collaboration they showed throughout the day. 👏✨

What a beautiful day for our Girls on the Run team to crush some goals and show what our students, staff, and families are made of! Grit, Confidence, Perseverance and Pride!! We are SO PROUD of you all!

School will be DISMISSED EARLY at 2:00pm on Monday, May 18th for staff professional development & learning. Please prepare and plan ahead as necessary. School will resume as usual on the morning of Tuesday, May 19th. Have a great weekend with your little learners!

GDA family—our Girls on the Run team has been practicing for months in preparation for their big 5K run this Saturday at Grand Valley State University! 💙

Let’s cheer on our girls as they show off their hard work, determination, and grit! We are so proud of this amazing group and thankful for our volunteer coaches!

We’ve seen focus, perseverance, and so much growth from our 3rd–5th graders—and we couldn’t be more proud of the effort they’ve shown each and every day.
