🏅 Accredited. Proven. Distinguished. 🏅

The Cornerstone University Exercise Science program is proud to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for the Exercise Sciences (CoAES)—a distinction we have held since 2023. This accreditation recognizes programs that meet rigorous national standards for preparing students for careers in health, fitness, and exercise science.

Even more exciting, Cornerstone is one of only four institutions in Michigan to hold this distinction for Exercise Science.

Accreditation is more than a credential—it is a commitment to excellence. It means our curriculum, faculty, facilities, assessment practices, and student outcomes have been evaluated against nationally recognized standards designed to prepare graduates for success in the exercise science profession.

For our students, this means confidence that they are receiving a high-quality education grounded in science, hands-on experience, and professional preparation. For us, it is a reminder to continue pursuing excellence as we equip students to serve others through health, wellness, performance, and rehabilitation.

We are grateful for this milestone and for the faculty, students, alumni, and partners who have helped make it possible.

🏔️📚 ACSM 2026 | Salt Lake City, Utah 📚🏔️

What an incredible week at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah!

Each year, scientists, researchers, clinicians, and students from around the world gather to share the latest discoveries in exercise science, sports medicine, health, and human performance. We were honored to represent Cornerstone University and contribute to these important conversations.

A special congratulations to current student McKenna Gelinas and faculty member Dr. James Sackett, who presented research posters on Thursday. Their hard work, dedication to scientific inquiry, and commitment to excellence was on full display as they shared their findings with colleagues from across the globe.

Experiences like ACSM provide valuable opportunities to learn from leading experts, engage with cutting-edge research, and grow as scholars and professionals. We are grateful for the opportunity and proud of the way our students and faculty represented Cornerstone University.

As we pursue truth through science, we are reminded that all knowledge ultimately points back to the Creator who designed the human body with such incredible complexity and purpose.

🏆 Most Outstanding Kinesiology Award 🏆

We are excited to recognize Taylor Zwagerman as this year’s recipient of the Most Outstanding Kinesiology Award!

Taylor has made an incredible impact on the Kinesiology program during her time at Cornerstone University. From helping launch our Community Fitness Testing Program, to serving faithfully as a Human Performance Lab Manager and tutor, she has consistently demonstrated excellence, professionalism, and a servant’s heart.

In the classroom, Taylor excelled academically while also representing Cornerstone as a dedicated member of the varsity softball team for four years. She has modeled what it means to pursue excellence in every area of life while investing deeply in others along the way.

Most importantly, Taylor has embodied the heart of our program through her commitment to whole person wellness, leadership, humility, and Christ-centered service.

Following graduation, she will continue her education at Grand Valley State University as she pursues her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. We have no doubt she will continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Taylor, we are incredibly proud of you! Congratulations! 👏
