GVSU colleagues should read this piece by Matt Seybold on for-profit micro-universities, as we're one of the institutions that contracts with Ziplines. Faculty, APs, and staff should have a seat at the table when it comes to our public regional university's digital literacy strategy; we should also have a say in our contracts with EdTech, AI startups, and companies like Ziplines: "Ziplines boasts of more than thirty “university partners” on its website, and its “AI Prompting Certificate Course,” launched less than a year ago, is now available through over a dozen institutions."

April 17 National Day of Action
Join AAUP chapters, higher education unions, and student organizations across the country in a National Day of Action for Higher Education. We will mobilize around a unifying national message that links our local struggles with a set of demands we can fight for together, including publicly funded higher education for all, freedom to teach and learn, job security and fair pay, equity and racial justice, and democratic governance of our institutions.
The centerpiece of the day will be simultaneous actions on every campus that can organize one, such as a teach-in, demonstration, or walkout. You can fill out this form to get involved and to start organizing an event on your campus.
