Use text sets to build knowledge 🤩
One of my fav quotes 👇
“Knowledge is like mental Velcro. It sticks best to other related knowledge.”
Enter: the text set.
A text set is a collection of sources- different genres, text types, levels, and formats…all centered around one common theme or topic.
We can build them intentionally, and move the focus from covering content to building real knowledge.
Swipe through for what a text set is, what goes inside one, and a simple real-life example you can use tomorrow 👉
💬 Save this, and follow along because my next post is about building text sets for YOU as an educator. That one’s going to be good. 👀
And comment TEXT and I’ll send you an article on this topic! 📚

Lately I’ve been thinking about this…
What spreads in education is not always what works.
And honestly? That’s incredibly frustrating…because teachers and coaches are some of the hardest working, most committed professionals out there.
You are constantly learning, adjusting, absorbing new information…only to be sold story after story. Trend after trend.
And we deserve more than that.
We need space for honest, nuanced, critical conversations in literacy. Space to ask questions. Space to challenge a popular routine without the shame spiral.
What’s a practice you’ve questioned lately? Tell me in the comments. 👇
