How incredible would it be if coaches had actual grant funding to spoil teachers throughout the entire year? Gift cards during testing season. Treats and supplies when morale dips. Little moments of appreciation that say “I see how hard you’re working.”

Writing is hard…

and ~76% of students in our nation don’t write proficiently.

this isn’t a kid problem (and it’s definitely not teachers’ fault👇

Writing is one of the most cognitively demanding things we ask students to do. They’re managing spelling, handwriting, working memory, planning, self-regulation, AND generating ideas…all at the same time!

That’s a lot to hold.

And most teachers (me 🙋🏻‍♀️) were never taught how to teach writing well. Most of us just...figured it out as we went.

That changes with SRSD.

Self Regulated Strategy Development…specifically thinkSRSD, is not a curriculum or a program. It’s a research-backed instructional approach that lightens the cognitive load and gives students a consistent, explicit process for writing.
