Happy Labor Day from Everbloom Montessori! 🌿

Everbloom is closed today as our community takes time to rest and recharge.

We are grateful for the generations of workers who helped make safer, fairer workplaces possible, and for the educators, caregivers, families, and community members whose work and care help our children grow (and paint beautiful works) each day.

Today, we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Maria Montessori, whose vision continues to shape how children learn, grow, and see themselves in the world.

Maria Montessori believed that every child carries an innate desire to explore, create, and become capable. Her work invites adults to prepare environments rooted in beauty, purpose, independence, and deep respect for each child’s individual development.

At Everbloom, we honor her legacy through the everyday moments that matter: a child choosing meaningful work, caring for their community, persisting through a challenge, and discovering, “I can do it myself.”

Happy birthday, Dr. Montessori. Thank you for helping generations of children bloom. 🌿

We treasure our guides, assistants, and staff at Everbloom Montessori, and we are so grateful for the care, creativity, patience, and expertise they bring to our community each day!

As we prepare our classrooms to welcome students back next Monday, we want to pause and celebrate the people who make Everbloom such a warm, thoughtful place to learn and grow. Thank you for sharing your many gifts with our students, families, and one another.

In this week before school starts, we are preparing our classrooms and materials for new and current students.

We are so excited for the learning, growth, sharing, and kindness that we will witness throughout this year.

Kindness in early childhood often appears in small, and such beautiful ways.

A child notices that someone is waiting for a material and offers it when they are finished. A friend brings over a tissue. Someone makes room at a table. Another child pauses long enough to help restore a work space before moving on.

These moments are part of the daily life of the classroom. ❤️

Children are learning how to be in community with one another. They are learning how to notice other people, how to repair small conflicts, how to wait, how to help, and how to belong.

A peaceful classroom is not created by avoiding every disagreement or difficulty. It is created through repeated opportunities to practice care. We are grateful for every day that we can participate in, and witness, these moments. ❤️

Summer break is here, and we are soaking up every second! 🌻

Everbloom will be closed June 29 – July 3 as we all take a little time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the season with the people we love most.

To our incredible families and the wider Grand Rapids community — thank you for everything you bring to Everbloom every single day.

Before the children arrive, the classroom is ready.

The shelves are ordered. The materials are complete. The work spaces are prepared with care.

A visitor may first notice that the room feels calm and beautiful. Over time, they begin to notice something deeper: the environment has been arranged so children can move with independence and purpose.

In Montessori, the classroom is an active part of the child’s learning. The placement of each material, the scale of the furniture, the order of the shelves, and the rhythm of the day all communicate something to the child.

You belong here. You can choose. You can care for this space. You can begin. ❤️

Today we recognize and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and honors the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equity, and justice.

At Everbloom Montessori, we believe every child deserves to be seen, valued, respected, and empowered to share their unique gifts with the world. We are committed to creating an environment where children learn not only academic skills, but also kindness, empathy, inclusion, and respect for the diverse experiences and histories that shape our communities.

As we honor Juneteenth, we encourage our community to take time to learn, reflect, and recognize the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans throughout history and today.

Michigan’s state budget is being finalized right now, and the decisions made in the next few weeks will directly impact the early childhood programs our families and communities depend on.

As a Montessori school rooted in the belief that early childhood is foundational, not optional, we’re asking our community to take two minutes to make your voice heard.

Michigan’s Children has made it easy. Call scripts, one-click action alerts, and funding request documents are all available for Child Care Scholarship, Early On, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation, and Rx Kids. If lawmakers hear from enough constituents, they feel it.

This is one of those moments where two minutes makes a huge difference!
