Dear daycare parents, grandparents, future parents, anyone in my family who knows just how much I put into my Family Childcare small business, please read... please send emails,

My house is a second home for my daycare kids. I raise them like my own. I love them like my own. Very often when I talk about "my kids" I'm not just referring to my own 3 it's my own plus my addition 9 kids that I care for every week! These kids become part of my family!

These new policies will take away the warm welcoming atmosphere and replace it with an over cluttered , micromanaged, and over sterilized stressful environment.

Please if you have a moment, write a letter to your representatives and voice your concerns about the unrealistic expectations that we will be required to follow and what YOU look for in a daycare environment and from a provider.

Write a letter. Be concise and direct and get their attention. These standards are center standards not family, in-home. Let them know that any standards close to these will radically change Licensed Family
Child Care’s unique settings and significantly increase costs. This will lead to an additional decrease in the number of FCCs and/or increased fees to families. NARA needs to be directed to redo these standards based on family, in-home national standards, not centers. Request that the NARA contract could/should be terminated due to a MN licensing director being on NARA’s board. Remind them that MN DHS needs to take charge and stop NARA from promoting these.

We have growth progress!!!!

Planted our first seeds of the season... pumpkin pie pumkin seeds. Also trying something new with the bin and trying to create a greenhouse effect while the kids can see the process and not touch.

🌈 Happy National Find a Rainbow Day 🌈
This is a fun special day as we work hard on the colors in Spanish as everyone knows them in English (well we work on this the whole year as we are a color coded daycare)

What Do You Need to Make a Rainbow????
☁️.... ☔️ .... and 🌞 = 🌈
Clouds ... rain... and sun = rainbow
Nubes .... lluvia ... y sol = arcoíris

The kids made their very own posters to take home.

AM snack was yogurt and fruit loops.... and since we don't ever have this kind of cereal you can only imagine how excited the kids were!! My Wy guy said "ohhhh loook rainbow cheerios" to which a friend didn't skip a beat and said "Wyatt... those aren't cheerios .. those are fruit loops".

Lunch - we ate the rainbow!!!! We had buttered rainbow noodles with a rainbow of veggies/fruits and the boring part... pork chops.

PM snack - We created a rainbow smoothie. Greek yogurt... and fruits and veggies! The kids were in charge of raiding the fridge and freezer for fruits and veggies to come up with all the colors of the rainbow. Oh boy did they have a blast as they aren't allowed to open the fridge/freezer on a normal day for temp control purposes.

Here's what they came up with:
Red/rojo - red apples, frozen strawberries (they missed the raspberries.... or they ate them.... guess I take a peak tomorrow 🤣).
Orange/ naranja - carrots... lots of them
Yellow/amarillo - bananas and inside of the apple is a yellowish color
Green/verde - celery, green grapes
Blue/azul - frozen blueberries
Purple/pupura - purple grapes
And Greek vanilla yogurt

And I made rainbow banana bread muffins .... while the kids napped.
