✨ What a fantastic first week back! ✨

Our Powell Elementary staff has been busy building relationships, learning together, attending an inspiring district convocation, and preparing our school for an amazing year.

One of the highlights was being sorted into our Ron Clark House System houses! 💙💚 We can't wait to use our houses to build community, celebrate one another, and create an incredible culture for our students.

Now, all that's missing are our Palominos! 🐴 We can't wait to welcome everyone back and kick off an unforgettable school year!

At Colin Powell Elementary, every student will become part of one of our four Ron Clark Houses—Amistad, Altruismo, Isibindi, or Réveur. The best part? A house chooses your child! 💙💚❤️🖤

The House System is more than friendly competition. It helps students develop leadership, responsibility, character, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging while creating lasting connections across our campus.

District summer hours are:
Monday-Thursday 7:30 am-5:00 pm

What an incredible Field Day! ☀️🎉

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers, families, and teachers for making field day such a success. Your support, encouragement, and willingness to jump in wherever needed helped create a fun and memorable day for our students.

To our students and families — thank you for bringing the energy, excitement, teamwork, and smiles all day long! It was wonderful seeing everyone having such a great time together.

We were also lucky to have absolutely perfect weather, and the rain held off until the very end of the day! 🌤️💦

We are so grateful for our incredible school community and all the people who helped make Field Day 2026 one to remember! ❤️💙💛💚

Field Day is tomorrow, and our amazing PTA needs a few more volunteers to help with concessions! 🌭🧃

Our PTA has already been at school all week serving and celebrating our staff for Teacher Appreciation Week, and we are so grateful for all they do for Powell. If you are already planning to come to Field Day, please consider signing up to help during a time slot.
