Advanced Academics: Day 1 - 5th Grade GT students explored the aligned Science TEKS through deeper inquiry and hands-on learning experiences designed to strengthen their understanding and prepare them for success on the STAAR. Throughout the week, students will investigate important science concepts such as Earth systems, the water cycle, energy, and matter while developing strong scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills.

As part of their learning experience, students will conduct field investigations at the district’s nature center, where they will observe real-world examples of ecosystems, natural resources, and environmental interactions. These outdoor explorations allow students to collect data, make observations, and apply classroom concepts in authentic settings.

By connecting their investigations to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, students will practice analyzing information, interpreting evidence, and explaining scientific ideas—skills that support deeper learning and help build confidence for the STAAR science assessment. 🌿🔬🌎📊
